“You know, when you laugh it changes everything — it changes your spirit and the way people receive you, an alkaline diet which I swear by,” Macpherson said.

She added that she prefers an “alkaline diet” consisting mostly of “vegetables, a little bit of fish, not much protein, no coffee, alcohol.”

The 6-foot-tall Australian also swears by exfoliating, moisturizing every day and sleeping for at least eight hours.

“One of the biggest beauty tips — and I know it’s a cliché – is I drink three liters of water a day,” she said.

As for her workout regimen? Macpherson said she does not go to the gym.

“I’m Australian and I’ve always done a lot of sport, whether it be surfing or running or hiking, road biking … it’s not really just about making sure you look thin but it’s actually that you enjoy doing,” she said.

In addition to her storied modeling career, Macpherson is a businesswoman and designer. She has just launched a new line of intimates called The Body with retailer JCPenney.

Macpherson said she is designing the line for “every woman.

“I think today women choose lingerie because … it’s about feeling feminine, feeling sexy and feeling comfortable in your body,” she said.
