Despite turning 60 next year, Jerry Hall still has the figure and beauty that made her a catwalk star.

But unlike many celebrities, the ex-model has always denied having cosmetic surgery.

Instead, she revealed yesterday, she attributes her lasting good looks to Ayurvedic medicine – believed to be the world’s oldest holistic healing system.

Based on the belief that wellbeing depends on a balance between mind, body and spirit, practitioners use herbal potions, special diets and massage in a bid to maintain health.

Miss Hall, who has four children from her marriage to Rolling Stone frontman Mick Jagger, said it was also important women dress their age.

She admitted she feels pressure to look good but relies on her model daughters Elizabeth, 31, and Georgia May, 23, to ensure she does not look dated or inappropriate.

In an interview ahead of her appearance on BBC show Who Do You Think You Are? on Thursday, Miss Hall was asked to spill her beauty secrets. She said: ‘I love yoga … I also see an Ayurvedic doctor, which is an ancient Indian thing …

‘I go and see the doctor to balance my system twice a year, it’s preventative. They take my pulse, give me some herbs and tell me what I should eat and what I should avoid. They rub oil on me too, it’s so lovely. It’s like a detox. I’ve been doing it for 30 years, I think it’s good.

‘My other tips are sleeping well, drinking lots of water and getting lots of fresh air. You need to eat well too.’

Miss Hall said she tries to avoid mimicking what her daughters are wearing.

She added: ‘You don’t want to look silly wearing things that are too short, showing your midriff or too much skin.

‘You don’t want to wear any styles that are too young … I try to still dress glamorously but not like my daughters … [They] are so great at it, they are always coming over and telling me what I should be wearing.’
