Mimi: I am really trying to stop eating red meat, but I’m a meat lover so it’s proving to be a true test of my will power.

What is the most important thing in your life that keeps you happy and healthy?

Vanessa: My kids! I have to be strong for them and so I feel I must try to take good care of my body.

Mimi: My family, work and friends

Where is your favourite summer holiday destination and why?

Vanessa: I love Greece. It’s an incredibly special country for me because of its history and joyful approach to life. It’s vivacious and exuberant but at the same time relaxed and easy. I love that Chris can show me around and share all of his special childhood memories with me. Locally I love Cape Town; we generally spend our December holidays there, there is nothing like feeling the buzz of Joburg in the Mother City.

Mimi: It would have to Bora Bora although I haven’t been there; it seems so magical and really breathtaking.

What do you do to prepare for your summer holiday?

Vanessa: Defuzz and spray tan

Mimi: Not much actually, I just pack my bag and go to whatever destination my partner and I have decided on at that stage.

What three essentials items do you take with you on holiday and why?

Vanessa: Tinted SPF50 sunscreen

Mimi: Sun block to protect my skin from the sun of course, my cellphone because I have to be in contact with my family and a bathing suit to jump straight into the water the minute I get to our destination.

What is the best way to spoil yourself while on holiday?

Vanessa: I love food so on holiday we generally eat out a lot which is always fun for me, I love exploring new menus.

Mimi: Shopping, shopping and more shopping!!!

How do you exercise/keep active while you are on holiday?

Vanessa: I do lots of walking. In Joburg we drive everywhere so on holiday we get out our comfy shoes and start walking.

Mimi: I love to swim. There is mostly always water wherever we go, and it’s definitely one of the most relaxing forms of exercise while on holiday.

What role does water play in your daily diet?

Vanessa: I try to drink as much as possible, it’s easy to neglect your water intake so I make a conscious effort to drink a full glass every time I go into the kitchen, which works really well.

Mimi: Water plays a huge role since I’m not a fan of soft drinks, in fact I don’t drink them at all so I’m always drinking water. I carry my water bottle around with me wherever I go.

Any tips for ladies on how to get ready for their summer holiday?

Vanessa: Get a St. Tropez spray tan to give those pasty winter legs a little summer sunkissed glow. With all we know about the damage the sun does to our skins, we have no excuse to bake in the sun.

Mimi: Oh wow firstly I’d say they must sign up with Adventure Boot Camp because that has honestly made me feel differently about working out. I never used to like it at all!
