The Pussycat Doll workout: Ashley Roberts on hot yoga, spinning and DAILY … – Daily Star
SEXY blonde Ashley Roberts shares the secrets of her bikini body diet and why she loves two ‘small and perky’ parts of her anatomy…
Anyone who saw Ashley Roberts in the jungle on 2012’s I’m A Celebrity can testify that she has a fantastic body.
Her bikini-clad highlights even famously brought a blush to a smitten Declan Donnelly’s cheeks. The pair subsequently spent months denying any involvement, and Ashley declared that they are simply “great friends” and that she is “happily single.”
That may be, but it’s safe to say that she has a figure that would turn most men’s heads.
But Ashley, 32, who began training as a dancer age three, says her body is the result of 29 years of hard work and constant discipline.
“Being a dancer, we are athletes, so exercise is ingrained in me,” she says.
Arizona-born Ashley, who releases her new single Clockwork at the end of May, also had to be in sensational shape during her five years with the Pussycat Dolls, the sexy dance-pop girl group including Nicole Scherzinger and Kimberly Wyatt.
So, has she been able to ease back on the exercise since then? “Sure. I definitely take it easier now,” she says. “At the moment, I try to fit in at least three to four times a week with my personal trainers.”
At least! We’re exhausted just thinking about it but she hasn’t finished.
“And then, if I can, I try to fit in some hot yoga. I also love spinning. If I have the time I will try to do something active every day. I like the way I feel after – how alive I feel.”
However, her intense regimen has had some surprising consequences. “Dude, I’m starting to get calluses on my hands from the weights,” she laughs.
“We alternate the sessions. So, one day I’ll do circuit and interval training to get my heart-rate up and down. We do things like burpees and work with heavy ropes. But then the next day I’ll do the heavy lifting. My poor hands!”

Apart from getting builders’ hands, what part of working out does she hate the most?
“Like most women I have issues with my thighs. So, it’s unfortunate that I really hate working on my legs. Some days I’ll lying be on the floor with my legs burning and the trainer will be like, ‘Just one more set’ and I’ll be like, ‘Are you f***ing serious?’ But then I’ll huff and puff and get through it. That’s why you go to a trainer.”
Has she ever been tempted to take a short-cut and go under the knife? “No!” she cries before casting a mock pout down to her chest.
“Clearly I haven’t had any surgery, my precious little babies here aren’t doing too much!”
Indeed, the blonde beauty’s cleavage, showcased on Dancing On Ice last year, almost got a fan club of its own. “I don’t know what that was all about!” she shrieks.
“I was like, ‘Settle down, guys.’ I don’t have enough to make people go crazy. But, they are small and perky and I love them. I embrace my titties.
“I love my boobs. They are small and perky.”

“Remember that thing years ago? ‘I must, I must, I must improve my bust’, with that silly move you had to do? I used to do that when I was little. That was so funny! But it doesn’t work. Sorry, folks.”
Meanwhile, Ashley, who came second to Charlie Brooks in a 2012 I’m A Celebrity Bushtucker Trial, is as disciplined with what she eats as her workout regime.
“I don’t follow diets. I find stuff that works for me and is fresh and healthy and still tastes good. I’m very aware of what I’m putting into my body.
“For breakfast I have eggs or a vegan protein smoothie based on vegetable protein with almond milk, bananas and some berries. For lunch I do a salad with greens, raw vegetables when I can, and a light dressing.
“For dinner I’ll have stuffed peppers or sautéed root vegetables and quinoa if I do a grain.
“I have cheat days every week,” she grins. “I love a good pizza and I could eat Mexican food every day. I like to eat, I’m not one of those girls who turns down food. But I know I also have to work out to balance it out.
“There is no way around it, you have to put in the work.”
