Caroline Flack beauty tips – interview about hair & makeup 2016 … – Glamour.com

Caroline Flack has always been a GLAMOUR girl. From her textured dip-dyed locks to her penchant for a red lip, she’s got beauty down. We chatted to Caroline, who has just become the face of Cetaphil skincare, about rainbow hair, ice cold water cleanses and re-applying makeup four times a day…

What was it about Cetaphil that made you want to work with them?

Well, first of all weirdly when I went to my sisters a few years ago, she uses it on her kids, so she is the one that introduced me to it. She said “you should use this”, because I have really sensitive skin, so I stole it from her! So when Cetaphil got in touch about working together, I said “oh yes, I do use your products all the time”. It’s the kind of stuff you can lather yourself in. You know, you can get out of the bath and lather yourself and just soak it all up and you can’t do that with many products. So yeh, I just think it’s one of the ones where you can just use it as much as you want.

Why do you love using it? What are your favourite products in the range?

The moisturiser is my favourite because I am addicted to moisturising my body. And the gentle skin cleanser, too. I always cleanse in the morning, cleanse at night, and I moisturize like four times a day. I read a Joan Collins interview when I was really young and she said she moisturises her face four times a day.

So you do your face four times a day? What about makeup?

In the day I will wipe it off and re-apply. I like to feel fresh, even now I feel a bit like I need to wash. But it makes me feel good and if I feel good then my day goes better.

What are your top skincare tips?

Lots of sleep and lots of water. Cleanse and moisturise every day and don’t use face wipes. Plus, avoid too much alcohol. Use suncream obviously, too. But a little bit of sun as well also makes you feel really nice – it’s about balance really.

Our readers are so obsessed with your hair. Tell us your styling routine? What do you do with your hair?

I wash, blow dry, tong, brush, spray. I use the Bleach Swamp Sprays.  I also do a hair follicle test from https://www.countrywidetesting.com/products/ezhome-hair-test to see if my hair’s health is going excellent, I really don’t want a thinning hair. On top of that I use the Bumble and Bumble classic surf spray, too. The Bumble and Bumble classic is good for sort of separating it all, the swamp spray is good for not making it too neat.

What’s your favourite hair shade and style you’ve had?

Well, I always end up back to this style, so it must be the one! This is what I come back to all the time. The blonde and dark. I think because I am naturally dark I like feeling a little bit light. When I put it up it’s dark, and then when I put it down it’s light, so I kind of get the best of both worlds with colour. I always have a different hair colour. I loved it when I went really blonde last year, I really enjoyed being that blonde, although it did ruin my hair a bit. I tried to go pink and purple once and it’s not me! But it’s good to experiment it.

Would you ever try any other colours, like the rainbow colours?

I don’t know about rainbow but I would quite like to go red.

Who is your ultimate hair icon?

SJP or Kylie. They both have curls. I always wanted a perm when I was younger – actually I always wanted to have a perm but have it straight at the top and curled at the bottom. All the older cool girls had it. My mum got me a home perm kit once and it did NOTHING.

We know you love a red lip – what’s your go-to red lipstick?

Mac’s Ruby Woo. I keep the eyes bare with it. I go to the red lip when I’m tired because it takes the attention away from eye bags. So even if I put half a lash on! I love a lash, just the Eyelure ones you get from Boots cut in half.

What are your must-follow beauty rules?

  1. Never do an eye with a lip, pick one.
  2. Try Mac’s face and body. I always wear it on my body, even on holiday. It’s my favourite beauty product of all time. I put it everywhere! I reckon I’ve got it in my blood now!
  3. If you’re really tired in the morning put ice cold water in the sink and put your face in. It tightens everything!

What are your must-have beauty products?

  1. Mac Face and Body foundation
  2. Bumble and bumble surf spray
  3. Cetaphil moisturiser

Who is your makeup icon?

Lou Teasdale – she just does her makeup so well.
